Simple conversations. Lasting faith.

Family Bible Study: Simple Start Guide

Big idea: This isn’t about perfect behavior or seminary-level talks. It’s about opening God’s Word together and letting Him work in our hearts.

Set Real Expectations

  • Wiggly kids and short attention spans are normal.
  • Success = showing up, opening Scripture, praying together.

Make a Simple Plan

  • Pick your rhythm: once a week (e.g., Mondays) or twice a week (Tue/Thu).
  • Pick your time: right after breakfast or right after dinner.
  • Make it tangible: put it on the calendar, clear the table, open Bibles.

Pro tip: Short and consistent beats long and rare.

Before You Start

At dinner, announce the plan and the first date/time.

Ask everyone to pray about it and bring a Bible.

Why We Do This

  • Know God better by knowing His Word.
  • Learn and live truth—not just hear it.
  • Deepen our relationship with God and each other.

When It Gets Messy

If answers are weak, kids get squirmy, or siblings bicker—don’t quit. You’re planting seeds and trusting God to bring growth in His time. Keep the purpose in view; He’s faithful.
