We're a Jesus-centered church
We're focused on developing devoted followers of Jesus, with biblical teaching, Spirit-led worship, and community for all ages. Whether you're new to faith or have followed Jesus for years, we'd love to help you find your place here.
The Crossing is a church in Milton, Delaware, for everyday people following Jesus. Come as you are.
From the beginning, we've been built on one simple conviction: go by the Bible. We’re less interested in impressing you and more interested in helping you know Jesus and follow Him everyday—one step at a time.
Our Mission
Everything we do comes down to one aim:
We're not here to put on a show or grow a crowd. We're here to help ordinary people know Jesus and follow him for real, in everyday life.
And it's how we live our four values:
- Connect — find your place in God's family.
- Develop — grow in your faith.
- Serve — use your gifts to make a difference.
- Give — live generously, like Jesus did.
Our Story
We didn't start with a building or a band. We started with about 15 people in a living room.
1986 — A small group called the Lewes Church of Christ began meeting in a home, determined to build their lives on the Bible. They didn't know who had it all figured out, but they knew the Bible was worth following. That conviction still drives us today.
1987 — The young church moved into its first building.
Over the years — God kept adding people. One service became two, then three, until the room was full and it was time to dream bigger.
2007 — The church moved to its current home in Milton and became The Crossing. Before long, we built the Cove, a dedicated space for our kids, our students, and the next generation growing up here.
2025 — After 32 years of faithful leadership from Mark Magee, Adam Woods stepped in as our senior minister in January.
Today — We're still growing, still welcoming new people every week, and still going by the Bible. The best part of our story is the one being written now, and we'd love for you to be part of it.
What We Believe
We believe the Bible is God's true Word, that Jesus is God's Son who died and rose to rescue us, and that anyone can be made new through Jesus and grow into a devoted follower who develops other devoted followers.
