Our Beliefs

Everything we teach comes straight from Scripture. Here's what we believe.

In short: the Bible is God's Word, and it's true, trustworthy, and the authority for our lives.

We believe the Bible to be God’s Word given to us through divine revelation from God through people who were carried along by the Holy Spirit as they wrote. Because of that, we believe the Scriptures are true and trustworthy in all they affirm. We believe the Word of God to be the authority for our faith, our life, and for truth. We believe the Bible is the lens through which the world is best understood. We believe the purpose of the Bible is to communicate to humanity who God is, how He can be known intimately and personally, and how to live according to His will. We believe the Holy Spirit speaks through the Scriptures in real time and the text is both living and active.

[2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Matthew 28:18; John 17:17; Romans 10:17; Hebrews 1:1-3; Psalm 119:105; Romans 12:2; John 16:13; Hebrews 4:12]

In short: one God, three persons, Creator of everything, holy and full of love.

We believe God is triune, existing in three perfectly united yet distinct persons. We believe God is the Creator of all things visible and invisible. He is Father to the spiritually adopted; all-knowing, sovereign, and all-powerful. He is holy and compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love and faithfulness.

[Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 1:1; 1 John 3:1a; Psalm 147:5; Psalm 115:3; Luke 1:37, Revelation 4:8; Psalm 86:14]

In short: every person is made in God's image with great worth, every person has sinned, and every person needs Jesus.

We believe every person has inherent dignity, value, and worth because they are created in the image of God, knit together by His very hands in their mother’s womb and attended to throughout their lives by a loving Heavenly Father. Every person has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory and has positioned themselves under God’s righteous wrath. Therefore, every person is in need of a Savior from heaven to rescue, redeem, and give them life. We believe God desires all people to come to repentance and be reconciled to Him through His Son, Jesus.

[Genesis 1:26; Psalm 139; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:3; Ephesians 2:4-5; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; 1 John 4:9]

In short: Jesus is fully God and fully human, who died, rose again, and will return.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Living Word of God, the only Savior who came to earth begotten of the Father through the virgin birth, fully human and fully God. We believe He lived a sinless life, died a sinner’s death, was buried and rose on the third day, cancelling the legal charge that stood against mankind, and disarming the powers and authorities of the age. We believe He ascended into Heaven and will return in victory to rescue His bride, the Church.

[John 1:1; Matthew 6:9; Matthew 1:23; Hebrews 2:14; Colossians 2:9; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Colossians 2:14-15; Hebrews 4:14; Acts 1:11b; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17]

In short: we're saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus, expressed in repentance and baptism, and made new.

We believe salvation from the guilt, penalty, and power of sin has been achieved solely through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe one is saved by grace, through faith, upon repentance and baptism, where we personally participate in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, being raised to live a new life of faithfulness and good works until our life on this Earth ends. We believe everyone who has received this gift of salvation is adopted into the family of God as sons and daughters of the King, living to serve the world like Jesus did.

[Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23-24; 1 Peter 3:21; Ephesians 2:8; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4-5; Revelation 2:10; Ephesians 2:10; Galatians 4:4-7; John 13:17]

In short: the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, helping, guiding, and making us more like Jesus.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third member of the Godhead who proceeds from the Father. We believe He convicts of sin, saves, indwells every disciple, testifies about Jesus, helps us in our weakness, intercedes for us in prayer, empowers a faithful life, and transforms us to be more and more like Jesus.

[Acts 5:3-4; Titus 3:5; John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9-11; John 15:26; John 14:16-17; Romans 8:26; John 16:13; 2 Corinthians 3:18]

In short: the church is God's family, meant to grow, serve, and worship together until Jesus returns.

We believe in one Church comprised of all those who have been called out of darkness and into the wonderful light of salvation in Christ Jesus whose purpose is to glorify God in all we do. We believe the Church began on the day of Pentecost at the preaching of God’s Word and to this day functions as the body of Christ, gathered and meeting together in local communities worldwide. We believe the Church is critical to the health and development of Jesus-followers offering a place to learn together, serve together, worship together, love together, pray together, witness together, and encourage each other until the Day of Christ’s return.
