Freedom From Death

April 6, 2026

What do you do with the fear you never talk about—the fear of death, of judgment, of what happens when the lights go out? In this Easter message, Pastor Adam shows that the deepest cage we face isn’t just anxiety, addiction, or regret, but death itself—and that Jesus has already stepped into that cage for us.

In this message, Pastor Adam walks through the “easter eggs” of Scripture—Abraham and Isaac, the Passover lamb, and the Day of Atonement—to show how God has been pointing to a substitute who would die so others could live. We meet Barabbas, a guilty man who walks free because Jesus takes his place, and we discover that his story is actually our story. This speaks to anyone who feels trapped in shame, weighed down by past sin, afraid of dying, or stuck in a version of themselves they don’t know how to change. As Romans says, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1, NIV), and that means real freedom—from sin, shame, and death itself.

This sermon invites those who don’t yet follow Jesus to stop trying to be their own savior, trust what He has already paid for, and consider repentance and baptism into Christ as the start of a new freedom story. For believers, it’s a call to walk out of cages we’ve grown used to, remember that “they killed Him instead of me,” and live as people who are forgiven, free, and ready to tell others what Jesus has done.
